It is assumed that the well-being of nations and all their citizens depends on the rise of their markets. However most people are uninterested in the daily ups and downs of the stock market because they don't own shares directly. In the US less than 1 in 5 families own tock directly and less than half own stock directly or through pension and mutual funds.
