European Greens

"The German Green Party, whose institutional birth dates back to January 1980, was conceived in the midst of the social changes sweeping through the west during the 1960's and 1970's. Issues such as women's equality, nuclear weapons (especially the placing of intermediate range missiles on German soil), and the ecological crisis gave rise to social groups that sought to change or transform society. Eventually these groups, under the leadership of some very dedicated and dynamic individuals coalesced under the flagship "Green Party". "
